HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

Well, well, well....here we are, 2012. Yes, yes, we've already established that I'm the world's worst blogger, so I've decided to do something about it. Among a few of my New Year's Resolution, I've decided to start blogging more. Not that my life is incredibly amazing, but at least I can vent a little more here than I do on Facebook. So, let's recap the last few months.

September- big boys started playing soccer, Gunnar turned 5, Todd and I turned 31.

October- more fantastic soccer. Todd was Gunnar's coach and both he and Chase really enjoyed playing soccer. They may not have been the most awesome players individually, but they liked getting out and running around. Halloween was pretty fun this year, since the twins were able to run from house to house and get candy. And yes, they were running, they've grown up so much! We can't really call them "the babies" anymore because they are more like little boys each day.

November-More school, glorious school. And soccer ended. Chase finished his season up semi-decent, meanwhile, Gunnar's team never lost a game. Todd joked that he could retire after coaching a perfect season. I hadn't been feeling too good for a while, so I had my eyes checked and a physical. All was well, just needed a new Rx for my glasses, and was told I need to lose weight. Hopefully that will cure things. When Thanksgiving rolled around, we were blessed to have Todd's parents come and stay with us for the Holiday. We had a delicious deep fried turkey (yes, friends, if you ever want to deep fry a whole lot of food, I'm your go-to girl for a fryer.) We had lots of fun with them, we always do, and we are looking forward to spending time with them this Summer.

December- Well, the month started off great because Todd suggested we buy a real Christmas tree this year. We put it up, and all month it was a struggle to keep ornaments on the tree. Little hands kept flinging them all around the room, and it was fun to see how the twins reacted to tree. And I managed to get my Christmas shopping done early in the month, well, all except for my parents and my kids. I was fortunate enough to go to both Chase and Gunnar's class parties this year, and I look forward to attending the Valentine parties as well! I was really nervous to have the big boys around the house for 2 weeks while on break, but it actually worked out pretty nicely. I planned a few play/movie dates and we ended up spending time cleaning up their room and upstairs play areas. So Christmas was wonderful, and the boys got some really fun presents. Chase got a Nintendo DSI and several games, while Gunnar got the much coveted Leap Frog Leap Pad tablet. There were lots of other fun toys, and I'll post pictures in the next day or so. We finished off the month with our 11 year wedding anniversary, which was nice. We saw "Sherlock Holmes: Game of Shadows" and ate dinner at Waterfront Grill in Jenks. Then, for New Years Eve, we spent the evening with my family just hanging out, playing games, and eating really great food. That night I came home thinking I would fall asleep really quickly if I took 2 Advil PM tablets, and unfortunately I slept until 12:30pm the next day. So, I overslept for the first day of church in the New Year. So sue me.

And now, today, Chase and Gunnar went back to school, and I got to hang out with my old friend, Erin Denton Moydell. We had a fun breakfast at Mimi's Cafe, and I was pretty mortified by the end of breakfast when the twins started throwing food. It was good to see an old friend, and nice to get out of the house for a while today. My everday life is usually filled with laundry, dishes, diapers and whatnot, so it was fun to get out of the routine and spend time with her. Well, that's it for now, I'll be posting soon to keep up my Resolution!
